Due to a Girl Guide event being held on Saturday the 27th of March, the arena will be closed from 10.00am - 4.00pm. All other services in the centre will be open and running as usual including; scrambles, gym, spa, Rocksters group and the Youth Club. Additionally we will be offering climbers a special one off entry price of £5 in the evening of the 27th from 5pm-9pm.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Many thanks for your patience, The EICA team

Turned up last night for our usual 5-7pm Sunday night climb, only to be told that the arena was shutting at 6pm due to an expressive dance event taking place in the arena at 8pm. We still managed to squeeze a few climbs in - although being surrounded by 20 or so lycra clad Marcel Marceaus was quite off-putting!

When are Ratho going to start telling us about these events; we're members, signed-up on the e-newsletter list and facebook members- yet we still didn't know. (I did find an A4 note on the notice board)

Thankfully, we only had a 15 min drive to get to the arena - I would have been well pee'd off if it had been any further.

P.S. Did anyone watch the event?

Hi Eskimo

Sorry that you didn't find out about the event prior to making your journey. We will look into why this was and how we can get the information out more effectively.

The event was very successful and the footage from it is being shown at the Collective Gallery in Edinburgh from 13th April until 23rd May.

Apologies again for the lack of information prior to the event and thank you for letting us know.

In reply to Eskimo

I don't see why your moaning so much. The weather was amazing on Sunday, Why were you not climbing outside?

I think you need to shut up, man up and get out more!!!!!

If Ratho didn't have events like those it would not be able to stay open and Im sure you would moan a lot more if it closed!!!!!

You're right Bob - We should all stop going to Ratho at all during the summer months - that's sure to keep the centre open!
Anyway, I thought you were dead, man...Wikipedia tells me otherwise. Well waddayaknow...!

I don't care if u go to ratho or not during the summer. I just don't really see the point in having a moan and a rant on ukc about ratho being closed an hour early. U must be realy loanly. If u were that psyched about climbing ud be out with the birds and the bees on real rock at every given moment. Not moaning about losing one hour of pulling on plastic. Dry ur eyes and go climbing somewhere.  Kiss

I know! All I did was make a complaint, for which I received a nice response from Ratho.

Now I'm expecting Bob Dylan to be waiting for me at 5pm on Sunday with John Lennon, Mick Jagger and Bruce Springsteen in tow!! Jeezo - might not bother!

Thye guy made a valid point about the lack of communication, not about the closure itself.

I just don't really see the point in having a moan and a rant

Good point, Now apply it to yourself  Wink
