Hi Catriona,
I haven't done the lead course yet. i was thinking of buying my own rope and giving it a try, how hard can it be
lol
If you want to see if there is a course coming up i'm in. or just want a climbing buddy some evenings, just drop me a line Email
blades44@live.com Thanks Chris
how hard can it be?
belaying requires a much more dynamic approach.
and climbing... if you don't know what the phrash "back clip" means, you could very easily ruin yourself. (ok, i'll pull the cotton wool off.... if you back clip all the way up and then fall, there's a very high chance it'll be black mating, not the rope, breaking your fall...)
by all means give it a go, but you'd be better either...
learning from an experienced climbing partner
get lessons
if you pay for lessons you should learn more than just how to lead climb safely, but also some good tips and tactics to improve your overall climbing.
(i do not work for any climbing wall, nor am i a qualified instructor before you ask. i was lucky enough to get taught by friends, but i have also paid for private lessons in the past)
